Moshi Moshi

When my dad’s health started to decline, I began to realize that the man who raised me, is basically a stranger to me. That's how the Mixed Feelings project started. I began documenting myself attempting to learn his language, in an attempt to connect at a deeper level.

"Moshi Moshi"

This is how you answer the phone in Japanese. It originates from a phrase meaning "I'm going to start talking". This scene is titled "Moshi Moshi" because:

  1. My father and I are greeting each other through the phone

  2. I am expressing that I am going to start talking to him more regularly

  3. I am going to start talking in Japanese
